We are looking for volunteers to help Partner for Surgery transform more Guatemalan lives through medical and surgical care and education to prevent disease and birth defects.

How to Sign Up as a Volunteer Translator

 

Step 1: Choose Your Mission
Look at the calendar of upcoming rural medical missions at the bottom of the page and find the one you’d like to join.

Step 3: Pay the Participation Fee
 The cost to participate as a volunteer translator is $500 USD

Non-medical opportunities

We also accept non-medical volunteers to be part of our Rural Mobile Medical Missions. These missions spend a week working in four communities doing patient triage, visiting patients in their homes, and enjoying local cultural activities. They provide a unique look into another culture; for many participants, these missions are a major highlight of their travel experiences.

By joining our missions, you will be part of a dedicated team working to provide essential medical and surgical care to underserved communities. Please follow the instructions below to learn more about our mission and how you can participate.

Rural Missions

Teams:

  • Teams will be billed USD 1,000 per volunteer with a minimum requirement of 14 volunteers per team.
  • All participation fees must be made through www.partnerforsurgery.org

Individuals:

  • Rural Mission Medical Volunteers: USD 1,200.
  • Non-Medical Volunteers: USD 1,000.
  • Volunteer Translators: USD 500.
Surgical Missions
  • The Team Leader must pay the complete fee before the team arrives for the mission.
  • Mission dates can be reserved with an initial down payment.
  • Additional costs that may result from activities during the mission can be billed to the team after the mission.
